What psilocybin services cost in Colorado: real 2026 numbers

Money is usually the second question, right after legality, and the market is young enough that straight answers are scarce. So here are real numbers, current as of mid-2026, with sources, and my own pricing in plain sight.

The short answer

In Colorado, a single administration session at a licensed healing center generally costs between $1,000 and $3,500. Full programs that bundle screening, preparation, the session day, and integration run from about $3,500 to $9,500 depending on the center, the facilitator, and how much time wraps around the journey itself. Reported center pricing backs this up: Denver's first licensed center has published sessions at $3,000 to $3,500, a Fort Collins practice offers a sliding scale from $1,000 to $3,000, and Boulder-area programs land in between.

My own one-on-one facilitation package is $2,500, and what that buys is spelled out on the facilitation experience page: the free first conversation, a 90-minute intake and eligibility review, a preparation session, the facilitated journey of roughly six to seven hours, and an integration session two to three days after. I publish the number because I think everyone in this field should.

Where the money actually goes

It is not the mushrooms. The psilocybin moves through Colorado's licensed cultivation and testing chain and reaches you only at a licensed location, and that product cost is a small slice of any bill. What you are mostly paying for is time: a facilitator's full day for the session itself, hours of preparation and integration around it, and the healing center's licensed venue. A six-hour session with one dedicated professional present is simply a different economic object than a fifty-minute appointment, and the price reflects that arithmetic more than any markup.

The insurance answer, without hedging

No. Colorado's law does not require insurance to cover natural medicine services, and I know of no plan that does. This is private pay across the board, for every center and every facilitator. Anyone who implies otherwise is confused or selling something. What some people can do is use general health savings dollars for adjacent care they were getting anyway, but the sessions themselves come out of pocket, and it is better to hear that plainly before you fall in love with the idea.

Honest lower-cost paths

The program has a built-in budget tier: micro-healing centers, smaller licensed venues with lower overhead, which tend to price below the big centers. Several facilitators and centers run sliding scales; the Fort Collins example above starts at $1,000. Group formats, where several participants share a session with a facilitator team, bring the per-person number down further, with trade-offs in privacy and pacing that deserve their own thinking. And sometimes the honest budget answer is to wait. The market is one year old, more centers are licensing every month, and prices are already spreading wider as supply grows.

The cost that interests me most

When someone tells me $2,500 is a stretch, I take it seriously, because financial strain is itself a nervous-system load, and walking into a big experience while worried about the bill works against everything the preparation is for.
