What if depression and anxiety are signals, not just disorders

Reading symptoms as nervous system communication.

Read the transcript

So the way I see depression and anxiety is really not isolated disorders, but rather symptoms or signals from the nervous system that something deeper might be needing attention. So a lot of times people have childhoods where their nervous system was under constant attack or threat. Maybe they didn't get the attention that they needed, or maybe it was physically unsafe. And a lot of times what happens later in life is that they have those symptoms like depression or anxiety showing up as a result of those deeper patterns that actually originated back in childhood. A lot of times, again, it is our parents, our community, our guardians that put those patterns onto our impressional brains, into our minds, and then we carry those patterns for the rest of our lives, unless we do some really deep dive into ourselves and change those patterns.

Every engagement begins with a complimentary 15-minute consultation. No commitment, just a conversation.
